I read the editor's comment in the last VIP Eye with great interest.
A few years ago, OneSource asked itself the same question - How reliable is company information, especially private company data?
This is why last year we announced our 'data quality initiative’, aimed at increasing the accuracy and relevance of the data that we aggregate. Our data quality process involves using an editorial team that will use primary research, news feeds and the web to keep executive and corporate structure changes more up-to-date than the original source. We are processing more than 5,000 over-rides (changes to the data we aggregate) a month.
Our initiative has helped reduce an industry average for time to correct inaccurate data of 45 days to just 3 days.
Data quality is a serious issue that impacts on business performance. We call for the industry to make data quality a no1 priority.
